Gordon Smiley was an American racing driver who competed in the Indianapolis 500 from 1980 to 1982. He was born on April 11, 1946 in Dallas, Texas.
Smiley began his racing career in Formula Ford and Formula Atlantic before moving up to IndyCar racing. He made his debut in the Indianapolis 500 in 1980, driving for the Arciero Racing team. In his first two appearances at the race, he failed to qualify.
